Channeling Your Inner Artist

Have you wondered if it’s possible to make a song out of birds chirping or turn your fingers tapping on the table into a digital drum pattern? The world of computer music is as limitless as your imagination!

Everyone has been dealing with today’s circumstances in the best possible way. Children especially have been struggling with their own feelings and emotions while navigating uncertain social dynamics. Giving them a voice to express themselves through music can be one of the most powerful and life changing tools.

These camps will not only allow participants to funnel their creativity in a productive manner, but also help them to understand the depths of sound around them. From using everyday objects, our bodies, and organic noise that surrounds us, Tim will teach the elements of music and how to develop these sounds in computer software to create a song that can be shared with friends and family!

Description:

In this camp participants will explore the sounds that surround us every day. It will allow them to understand, separate, and focus on specific types of musical elements in daily life and how these sounds can channel into creative art. We will explore field recording, musical structure, layering samples/recordings, and arrangement in software. This camp is focused on the artistic aspect of sound to allow freedom of expression and give participants the ability to create whatever their mind can believe is possible. By the end of the camp, they will have a beautifully crafted piece of music they can be proud of!
